Walkthrough: Kiln of the First Flame

  • Drop into the Firelink Altar and place any Lord Souls you have not offered yet; the way to the Kiln opens once all are placed.
  • Farm the Black Knights in the Kiln for titanite chunks and rare weapon drops.
  • The Black Knight Set rests on a beam along the way.
  • Optional co-op around levels 65–80.
  • Defeat Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.
  • Touch the bonfire that appears to link the fire and earn To Link the Fire.
  • Or walk back out through the fog gate to become the Dark Lord and earn that achievement instead.
  • Congratulations. Starting NG+ keeps your gear; use the next cycle for the items that need more than one playthrough.
